Hobbies are the main skills for your character in Heartopia. It includes the general activities, such as gardening, cooking, insect catching, fishing, and more. However, unlike other cozy video games, unlocking each hobby takes time. Mentors will not teach you the hobbies in exchange for a special ticket, and gathering those tickets is the key to unlocking all hobbies. In this guide, we will tell you how to unlock all hobbies in Heartopia.
There are 7 Hobbies in Heartopia. Each hobby has a different Mentor who will introduce you to their hobby in exchange for a Hobby Expansion Ticket. During the tutorial, players will unlock Fishing and Gardening hobbies. To unlock the remaining hobbies after the tutorial, players have to do the same process of giving the Hobby Expansion Tickets to the mentors.
The Hobby Expansion Tickets are only obtained by leveling up the DG Member Level. Specific levels of the DG Member Guild offer the hobby expansion tickets as a post-upgrade reward. For instance, DG Level 2 offers an expansion ticket, but you get it when you upgrade the DG Member Guild to Level 3.
Upgrading each level of the DG Member’s Guild requires a certain number of Contribution Medals.
It is crucial to complete the Resident Requests as they reward Contribution Medals. The quicker you gather enough medals, the quicker you get to upgrade the Guild Level. Here are the DG Member Levels that offer Hobby Expansion Tickets.
Players will be following through the tutorial during DG Level 2 and 3. They must offer the tickets to Vanya and Blanc to unlock Fishing and Gardening hobbies as a part of the tutorial. After the tutorial, players can spend the tickets in any order to unlock the hobbies. For instance, as you reach DG Level 6, you can give the ticket to any one of the three NPCs for the corresponding hobby.
After unlocking your third hobby, continue upgrading the DG to Level 12 to unlock the fourth and fifth hobbies. Once done, you can unlock the final two hobbies at Level 13, as it offers two tickets. You can unlock the Cat Care and Dog Care with the final tickets.
Every hobby in Heartopia has several levels. Each level grants new skills that enhance the player’s proficiency in the corresponding hobby. Additionally, new items become available for purchase at the Mentor’s shop. Leveling up hobbies like fishing, insect catching, and bird watching lets you discover a wider variety.
To upgrade the hobbies, the players must earn enough points for the next level and spend the Hobby Upgrade Ticket. You earn points by participating in the hobby, and the Hobby Upgrade Tickets are earned by leveling up the DG Member’s Guild. However, there are limited number of tickets, so make sure to use them carefully.
