Why You Should Do Petit Planet Starsea Voyages Every Day

The Petit Planet Starsea Voyages can be a little overwhelming at first. There’s lots to learn about and keep in mind as you explore. But if you can, you should try to do them every single day.

I’m lucky enough to be able to take part in the current Beta for Petit Planet, hence why I can create guides like this. You can expect to see a bunch more guides for the game, especially when it is fully released.

Some quests require certain resources, and one of those in particular asks for Cactus Fibers. We’ve got a guide on how to find Cactus Fibers in Petit Planet, for all those, like us, who struggled to get them.

Petit Planet Starsea Voyages

Starsea Voyages are a great way to get extra materials and rewards. It’s also currently the only way to meet new Neighbours for your planet, but they don’t always appear each time you set out on a voyage.

You visit something called Islets, which can house a variety of insects, fish, and other aquatic creatures that you might not have found on your own planet.

Lucadrops

A Petit Planet player holding a shovel whilst facing a Lucadrop, which is a blue, glowing droplet atop a pedestal.

There are also the Lucadrops you need to collect, which unlock new areas within the Starsea, and can be used to purchase new upgrades for your car. If you’ve not found any Lucadrops yet, look for the blue droplets that glow, which are sometimes hidden behind objects, rocks, trees, or cliffs.

At times, the Lucadrops are easy to find on an Islet; however, one of the most challenging parts of Starsea Voyages is the Islets that feature puzzles.

These usually include multiple Lucadrops within one Islet, but first, you need to solve the puzzle. By interacting with a carrot sign, you can get a clue. Some are pretty easy, whereas others are downright confusing.

While you don’t need to spend the Lucadrops to unlock new areas within the Starsea, you’re required to collect a certain amount before doing so. This is why Lucadrops are the most important part of Starsea Voyages. I’ve sometimes struggled with the Islet puzzles, resulting in me missing out on a few extra Lucadrops at times.

Car Upgrades

Each upgrade for your car costs Lucadrops, usually ranging from 5 to 15. In the Beta, you can unlock upgrades for the car’s battery and speed boosts. The battery is the ideal upgrade, as it means you can visit more Islets during a run. The speed boosts just help to, as the name suggests, speed things up.

These upgrades are under the Car Services option when speaking with Esassani or via the Starsea Voyage set-up screen. As of right now, there are 4 designs available for your car, which vary in style, all of which cost Dough rather than Lucadrops.

As you explore the Starsea, keep a close eye on the car’s battery. To conserve the battery as best as possible, head towards Islets that are close together, especially if you have a few undiscovered ones left. You can always embark on another voyage to revisit Islets you’ve already been to in case you need specific resources.

Finding New Neighbours

Nerina, one of the Neighbours you can meet during Starsea Voyages in Petit Planet. Both her and a player are holding bug-catching nets as they walk forwards.

As of right now, Starsea Voyages are the only way to meet new Neighbours. After meeting them once, you need to complete a quest for them before bumping into them again on another Starsea Voyage.

From there, you can invite them to visit your planet whenever you want. Heading back to your planet, invite them over, and ask them to move there permanently to gain a new Neighbour.

Bringing Your Neighbours Along

Whilst Starsea Voyages grant you a chance of meeting new Neighbours to invite to your planet, you can bring along up to two of your already-existing Neighbours, such as Yunguo, Isaki, etc.

When choosing which Neighbours to bring, you should pay attention to their Abilities. Some Neighbours are better at certain gathering tasks than others.

Gathering

As mentioned, aside from Lucadrops and free rewards from chests, Starsea Voyages allow you to stock up on important resources.

There are trees to chop, some of which aren’t native to your own planet, rocks to break, including those that drop golden ore, and bugs and fish to catch. Your catches can be donated to the Omni-Gallery, used to discover cooking recipes, or sold for profit.
