All Nullscape Curses – Player Debuffs and Enemy Buffs

Knowing what each of the Nullscape Curses does before choosing them can drastically change how your run goes. There are the Curses available from specific levels, and those that are exclusive to certain Nullscape enemies.

My Nullscape Altars guide shines a bit more positivity, explaining how each Altar can grant you and your team a buff. However, some Altars provide buffs in exchange for a debuff.

Nullscape Curses

Debuffs. Not something you want in a game like Nullscape.

Regular Curses

All of the Curses that have a chance to spawn per level, no matter your class.

Lower Gravity

  • Spawns from level 1
  • Increases player jump height

Random Spawn

  • Spawns from level 1
  • Teleports players and entities to a random spot on the map at the start of every level

Savory Ring

  • Spawns from level 5
  • During collapse, this Curse adds extra entities, but increases the yield of Golden Gifts by 0.15x

Scattered Gifts

  • Spawns from level 1
  • Moves all Gifts and Golden Gifts within around 2 studs of their original location

Weaker Jump Pads

  • Spawns from level 1
  • Weakens Jump Pads by 25% and Grapple Points by 40%

Beacon Mirage

  • Spawns from level 25
  • Spawns fake Beacons during collapse and randomly changes the location of the real Beacon
    • If you touch a fake Beacon, your screen turns black and white, and you start to hallucinate

Bigger Tripmines

  • Spawns from level 5
  • Increases the size of Tripmines by 10%

High Roller

  • Spawns from level 5
  • Changes the possible effects of the Altar of Chance
    • Increases the Golden Gifts effect by 2.5x
    • Kill One Enemy becomes Kill Three Enemies
    • Increases the number of Random Enemies to 4 instead of 2
    • Martpocalypse changes to Oh God The Flesh, which, instead of Mart, spawns 6 Flesh

Jackpot

  • Spawns from level 12 (may be subject to change)
  • Summons an Altar of Chance at the beginning of the level

LAP 2

  • Spawns from level 8
  • Slows down Collapse, depending on which level you’re currently at
  • Even if Collapse is ongoing, you can still use the Altar of Echo to spawn the Altar of Purgatory, but only if you do this before Beacon appears
  • Beacon spawns after 40% of the Golden Gifts are collected, but if all tiles disappear, Beacon is automatically summoned
  • Changes the yield of Golden Gifts from the Altar of Purgatory to 1.33x

More Tripmines

  • Spawns from level 5
  • Increases the number of Tripmines by 2x and can be stacked
  • Decreases the number of Gifts

Tweaked Odds

  • Spawns from level 5
  • The Altar of Chance grants both a positive and a negative effect
    • Increases the yield of Golden Gifts by 0.5x but reduces the 0.75x yield by 0.25x

Fake Count

  • Spawns from level 8
  • Hides the number of Gifts that have been collected and showcases a random number instead

Fragile Gifts

  • Spawns from level 8
  • Increases the speed of Collapse
  • Increases the yield of Golden Gifts by 0.75x

Nothing?

  • Spawns from level 8
  • Items in the shop cost 15% less
  • An extra entity is added every 5 levels, with a maximum of 8 additional yet temporary enemies

Barotrauma

  • Spawns from level 15
  • Increases Seamine size by 20% and increases their knockback effect when they detonate

Minefield

  • Spawns from level 10
  • 50% more Seamines spawn, which can stack to 100%

Curses Exclusive to Enemies

These Curses only appear when certain entities are present.

Bell

  • More Ringing
    • Spawns from level 1
    • Enemies can ring the Bell (except for Cadence)
    • Decreases the cooldown of Bell’s teleport
  • Mighty Gong
    • Spawns from level 1
    • Bell’s size increases when it teleports, which summons a shockwave, knocking back nearby players
  • Concussion
    • Spawns from level 1
    • Ringing the Bell prevents you from jumping for a total of 7 seconds

Mart

  • Mart Infection
    • Spawns from level 1
    • Temporary Marts are spawned by the Beacon when a player is defeated
  • Mart Slide
    • Spawns from level 1
    • Gradually increases the speed of Mart
  • Bigger Marts
    • Spawns from level 1
    • Increases the maximum size of Mart by 1.5x, and all Marts are 1.5x larger

Baby (and Voidbound Baby)

  • Pacifier
    • Spawns from level 1
    • You can barely see the visual cues or hear the audio cues when a Baby or Voidbound Baby is close by
  • Problem Child
    • Spawns from level 5
    • Causes them to feint, change their route, and increase their speed

ICBM

  • Bigger Blast
    • Spawns from level 5
    • Increases the radius of the effect
  • Scorched Earth
    • Spawns from level 1
    • Leaves pools of fire when it explodes
      • If a player touches the pool of fire, they automatically move forward for 7 seconds

Husk

  • Closer Husk
    • Spawns from level 1
    • Halves the delay of when Husks spawn after the cue
  • Further Husk
    • Spawns from level 1
    • Husks trail 1.6 seconds behind players
  • Taller Husk
    • Spawns from level 1
    • Increases the height of Husks by 50%
  • Random Husk
    • Spawns from level 15
    • Randomly increases or decreases the distance between each Husk and player
  • Husk Express
    • Spawns from level 8
    • Spawns a barrier in front of a Husk, which, upon contact, instantly defeats a player
  • Conga Line
    • Spawns from level 10
    • Triples the number of Husks at the beginning of each round

Springer

  • Springloaded
    • Spawns from level 5
    • Summons a shockwave after jumping
    • The shockwave, when it lands, now has a larger radius and is stronger overall
  • Resonating Shockwaves
    • Spawns from level 5
    • Shockwaves inflict the Overtuned debuff, defeating players when they ring the Bell

Flesh

  • Bloodier Meat
    • Spawns from level 5
    • Increases the range at which Flesh can infect tiles
    • Shoots flesh bullets that infect tiles
  • Blighted Jump Pads
    • Spawns when there is a Permanent Flesh
    • Flesh can infect Grapple Points and Jump Pads if it touches them

NIL

  • Cognitive Dissonance
    • Spawns from TBC
    • After attacking for a fourth time, NIL starts to chase the same player whilst spawning fake versions of itself, inflicting players with the Insanity debuff
      • Insanity causes hallucinations, most notably audio-based

Guardian (and Voidbound Guardians)

  • Shotgun
    • Spawns from level 5
    • Guardians can shoot twice with 8 bullets, dealing AoE damage to nearby players
  • Camouflage
    • Spawns from level 5
    • Turns both Guardians and Voidbound Guardians invisible as they move, whilst increasing the speed of their bullets

Telefragger

  • Ambush
    • Spawns from level 8
    • 20% chance to teleport behind a player instead of in front
      • When it teleports behind, its speed increases by 2x for 1.5 seconds
  • Accurate Telefragger
    • Spawns from TBC
    • Telefragger teleports to a player based on their momentum rather than their distance

Kolona

  • Burning Bouquet
    • Spawns from TBC
    • Razorbloom spawns when Kolona appears
  • Lost Embers
    • Spawns when there is a permanent Kolona
    • Kolona does not display a number, causing all players to rely on visuals and audio

Voidbreaker

  • Blade Carousel
    • Spawns from TBC
    • The Voidbreaker’s swords spin around you before attacking

Cadence

  • Deadly Melody
    • Spawns from TBC
    • An instrument spawns each time a player is defeated

Scrapmaw

  • Blueprint: Cross Beams
    • Spawns when there is a permanent Scrapmaw
    • Scrapmaw can summon another row of lasers
