To obtain the Ruby ore in The Forge, you need to mine in the Forgotten Kingdom! As for which rocks you need to break, you only have to focus on Basalt Vein rocks.
As Ruby is of the Epic rarity, it’s the 3rd rarest ore in the Ruined Caves of the Forgotten Kingdom. Because of this, make sure you’re using a pickaxe that has a high Luck stat.
One of the main parts of progression in The Forge is increasing your Mining Power via pickaxes. With Forgotten Kingdom being the second area you unlock, you need to obtain a pickaxe that has a decent enough Mining Power.
Ruby is an Epic rarity ore with a 1 in 487 chance of dropping when you break Basalt Vein rocks. When forging with this ore, it provides a 2.95x multiplier and has a selling value of 44.25 Gold.
It has no additional traits, so it’s mostly useful for the multiplier and selling value, whether you sell the ore itself or weapons/armor forged with Ruby.
Whilst you can use Ruby to forge weapons and pieces of armor, it’s a required ore for the Goblin King questline.
During the Goblin King’s questline, you have to collect specific ores. For the fifth and final part of this questline, you must obtain 5 Ruby ores for the Goblin King, as well as spend 25K Gold.
Once you complete this questline, you are rewarded with a key, which you can then use to unlock the door to the Goblin Cave.
