How to Upgrade Weapons

There are 2 NPCs you can speak with to upgrade any weapon. The first is the Enhancer, and the second is the Runemaker.

Runes

If a weapon has no Rune slots, you must enhance it to +3 before you can equip any Rune. Some weapons start with Rune slots from the get-go, ranging from 1 to 3. By talking to the Runemaker NPC, you can add Runes to your weapons in exchange for Gold. Runes have various effects, increasing the power of the weapon, whether it be stat upgrades or new passive abilities.

Enchancements

In exchange for Gold and Essence, you can upgrade a weapon by speaking with the Enchancer NPC. Enhancing a weapon not only improves its stats, but it also allows it to equip Runes once it reaches +3.
