Horse mount is a new feature in Disney Dreamlight Valley that allows players to navigate around magical worlds at a faster pace. Not only that, but the horses come with various abilities that can help with the daily chores of gardening, foraging, and mining. However, this new exciting feature is exclusive to the new Wishblossom Ranch DLC of DDLV. Players who have access to the DLC will be able to travel to the Wishblossom Ranch and pursue new story content. The horse mounts play a vital role in the story’s content of DLC. In this guide, we will tell you how to unlock Horse Mount in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
The horse mount features unlock quite early in the new exclusive story content of Wishblossom Ranch DLC in DDLV. As the player reaches the Wishblossom Ranch for the first time during the “A Wishful Invitation” quest, they will get to meet Snow White. Snow White will ask for the player’s help to move the bees out of the bridge to reach the ranch ahead. Here, the player must go to a cave nearby, where they will encounter a strange flower. Interacting with the flower and speaking with it will give the player their first horse mount.
The game introduces the new horse mount feature, allowing players to customize and name their first horse. The player can choose the starting horse preset from 8 presets and then customize it to their liking. After selecting the horse preset, you can customize the eye color, coat, mane, tail, and hooves of the horse. You can customize the color and pattern of your horse mount under the coat option.
NOTE: You can customize your horse mounts at any time at the Stable in Wishing Alps.
After customizing your horse mount, you will get to choose a custom name for it. Type in any name in the bar and confirm to name your horse mount. You will get to name all of your horse mounts as you unlock them throughout the adventure in Wishblossom Ranch.
The horse mount is somewhat similar to the companions. You can summon your befriended horse mounts (one at a time) by pressing the U Key (PC). Go near the horse to get multiple options, including petting, feeding, brushing, and riding.
NOTE: The brush option unlocks a bit later in the main story of Wishblossom Ranch DLC.
To ride the horse, press the E Key (PC). Your character will mount the horse. It follows the same movement control scheme as the character (avatar). Moreover, you can gallop the horse by pressing the Shift Key (PC). To dismount from the horse, press the C Key (PC).
Initially, the game will give an introduction to the horse’s basic abilities, like pushing heavy items. As you progress further and increase your friendship level with the horse, you will unlock more abilities that will help with gardening, foraging, and mining. Last but not least, you will also unlock special rideable mounts with unique abilities. These special mounts play a significant role in progressing the main story of the Wishblossom Ranch DLC.
