Pockpetpair Responds to Nintendo & Pokémon Lawsuit

Yesterday, Nintendo and Pokémon Company filed a lawsuit against Pocketpair for infringement of Patent Rights in Palworld. The Pokémon Company has investigated Palworld before for any infringement on intellectual property rights related to the Pokémon. However, despite the investigation, Pocketpair didn’t hear anything from Nintendo nor face any legal action, until yesterday.

Now, Pocketpair has officially responded to Nintendo and Pokémon Lawsuit, saying they are “unaware of the specific patents they are accused of infringing.” Pocketpair shared the response both on their website and on the official Palworld X/Twitter profile. Moreover, in the response from Pocketpair, they mentioned that they “will begin the appropriate legal proceedings and investigations into the claims of patent infringement.”

Pocketpair is a proud Indie Game Studio that loves devoting its time to building fun games, and it plans to improve Palworld. However, due to such circumstances, the studio will now have to spend most of its time investigating the claims of patent infringement.

Pocketpair also sends out a heartwarming message to Palworld fans and indie game developers saying, “We will do our utmost for our fans, and to ensure that indie game developers are not hindered or discouraged from pursuing their creative ideas.”

Nintendo and Pokémon are seeking compensation for damages, but we are not sure how it will turn out for either side.
