Roguelite Collectible Card Game Dark Cards of Candlewood Steam Demo Live

Set in a world on the brink of endless night, solo developer Lunoland and Joystick Ventures have released a new demo for their roguelite collectible card game Dark Cards of Candlewood.

Featuring the soul of a classic JRPG (think Final Fantasy VI!) alongside the heart of the cards in titles like Hearthstone, Dark Cards of Candlewood will task players with collecting cards back from scratch, recruiting a party of misfits, rebuilding the titular town of Candlewood, and pushing back the encroaching darkness.

As part of this new Dark Cards of Candlewood Steam demo, players can experience the opening chapter, 150 cards, the first three recruitable party members, and four increasingly difficult adventures.

On that note, those that beat Dark Cards of Candlewood’s hardest one can earn themselves a special role in the official Discord – you got this!

Luno (aka Chris), Lunoland said the following:

“I got my start trying to build a MUD in Notepad with a copy of ‘Sams Teach Yourself Java in 24 Hours.’

That didn’t pan out, so I took a 15-year detour to play music before learning Unity in 2016.

Dark Cards of Candlewood is basically everything I’ve wanted to build since that first terrible attempt.”

On that note, one can check out this Dark Cards of Candlewood demo via its official Steam page.
