How to Crossbreed Flowers in Heartopia – Crossbreeding Chart

Wondering how to crossbreed flowers in Heartopia? This guide goes over all the steps, as well as how to increase your chances of getting new flower colours in Heartopia. Gardening isn’t all about flowers, though!

You can also grow crops to use in recipes, such as Strawberries – find out how to get strawberries in Heartopia in our other guide.

How to Crossbreed Flowers in Heartopia

Crossbreeding Flowers is a feature in Heartopia that is locked behind Gardening Level 3, which is when you can purchase Flower Seeds. Upon reaching this level, you also unlock the crossbreeding feature. Now, as you know, you can grow a variety of crops to cook with and sell. But you can also plant flower seeds!

Flowers can be used as decoration for your home, but what if you want specific colours that aren’t available to purchase? That’s where crossbreeding comes in.

Flower Crossbreeding Steps

  1. To crossbreed flowers in Heartopia, you need to plant 2 flower seeds of different colours next to each other. For example, a seed for red flowers and a seed for white flowers
  2. Once planted, you need to water them every in-game day before waiting for them to bloom
  3. Once the flowers you planted have bloomed, do not pick them, as it may take a little longer for a set of flowers of a new colour to bloom – this is the flower obtained via crossbreeding
  4. After the new colour blooms, you can finally collect them if you wish to do so.

To increase your chances of crossbreeding, you can get 3 friends to water the plants, too. However, this is not a must, as there is still a chance for crossbreeding to occur without this step. I discuss this more later in this guide!

If the crossbreeding doesn’t work, keep up with the watering, and do not pick the flowers. Eventually, you’ll get a new flower colour!

How to Increase Crossbreeding Chances

As mentioned, you can increase the chance of crossbreeding by getting 3 other players to water your flowers. Depending on how many players water your flowers, the chance boost differs:

  • 1 other player:
    • Increases chance by 10%
  • 2 other players:
    • Increases chance by 30%
  • 3 other players:
    • Increases chance by 60% to 70%

There’s also Rainbow Powder, which guarantees a crossbreeding colour. Luckily, you only need to use one Rainbow Powder for it to work.
