Science Lab is one of the features in Heartopia that allows players to research numerous items. These items are exclusive to the Science Lab. Players have to use the Research Device inside the Lab to start researching items. These items will take real-life time to be researched before players can claim them from the device. How to Unlock Science Lab in Heartopia

Science Lab is one of the buildings in Central Square that will unlock on D.G. Member’s Level 27. As players upgrade to Level 28, they will unlock the Lab feature. This will trigger the Self-Service Lab quest for Atara, introducing you to the new Lab and its features. The science lab building is on the main circular road of the central square.

How to Use the Research Device and Get Energy in Heartopia

The Research Device is located inside the Lab. Interact with the device to see all the researchable items. Every item will take a certain time to research and grant you a specific amount of Energy, a currency that is essential for leveling up Central Console. After browsing through the items, select an item, and then press the “Start Research” button to initiate the research process. As you initiate the research, the corresponding time of the research will appear on the item. Once the research is complete, you will earn the corresponding energy.

NOTE: A Research Device can only research 1 item at a time.

How to Reduce the Research Time for Items

While in the Research Device menu, press the ‘E’ key or tap on the “Research Device Level” tab to open a leveling menu. It is the leveling menu for the Research Device. There are five levels in total, and each level will reduce the research time by a certain percentage. To level up the Research Device, you will have to reach a certain Central Console level and pay gold.

  • Research Device Level 1 – Unlocked by default
  • Research Device Level 2 – Requires Central Console Level 2 and 5000 Gold
  • Research Device Level 3 – Requires Central Console Level – and Gold
  • Research Device Level 4 – Requires Central Console Level – and Gold
  • Research Device Level 5 – Requires Centra Console Level – and Gold

How to Get More Research Devices in Heartopia

In addition to reducing the research time of a Research Device, you can also install up to 4 Research Devices in the Lab. If you look to the right of the device, you will see the barriers. Interact with the barrier to learn the requirements for installing more research devices.

  • Install 2nd Research Device – Requires Central Console Level 3
  • Install 3rd Research Device – Requires Central Console Level 5
  • Install 4th Research Device – Requires Central Console Level 10

How to Level Up the Central Console in Heartopia

To level up the Central Console in Heartopia, you will have to earn a specific amount of energy by researching items. Each item you research will give you energy. Once you reach the threshold of a level, you can level up at the Control Console, a round machine in the middle of the Lab. For instance, Level 2 Central Console requires 400 Energy. Once you have earned 400 Energy, you can level up and unlock new items to research.

There are currently 41 items available for research, with a maximum of Level 5 Central Console. It means that more items will be added in the future, along with the levels.

Purchase Items from Research Store

Last but not least, the Lab has its own Store from where you can purchase the exclusive items on the go in exchange for Wishing Stars. Interact with the kiosk inside the Lab to open the Research Store. The available items in the store will be the same as your Central Console Level. More items will become available as you upgrade your level. However, purchasing items from the Research Store is very expensive, as each item costs 60 Wishing Stars and more. Moreover, there is a weekly store purchase limit of 20 items.
