Navigating through these areas takes a long time, which can be reduced to a moment with the fast-traveling feature. However, the game does not tell you how to perform fast travel. The fast travel system in MIO: Memories in Orbit is quite unique compared to other Metroidvania games. Unlike other games, where you have to unlock a point to set it up as a key location, MIO requires a bit more. The key locations for fast travel in MIO: Memories in Orbit are known as Attunement Gates. Players can find these gates through exploration and progressing in the main story.
As players interact with an attunement gate, it will activate, allowing the players to upgrade abilities, but not fast travel. For fast travel to become available at the gates, you must connect the gates to the Network through the Overseer Pathways. The Overseer Pathways work as a link among the attunement gates. For the link to be active, you need an Overseer associated with the attunement gate.
So, the first step that a player needs to take is to activate the attunement gates. After that, find the Overseers around the Vessel to send them to the gates. Once the Overseer is at an attunement gate, the player can fast travel through that gate to the other online gate.
The Overseers are scattered throughout the Vessel. You will run into the Overseers by exploring every nook and cranny of a level. To increase your chances of finding the Overseer, unlock the map. It will help you navigate the levels, allowing you to locate hidden areas, which potentially will have an Overseer.
Upon finding an Overseer, interact with it to free it. An animation will play in which Overseer will return to its associated attunement gate.
