Man City Stumble Again, Madrid Win Big in UCL

Manchester City suffered their second consecutive defeat in 2026 after suffering a shocking 3-1 loss against Bodo/Glimt. Meanwhile, Real Madrid seem to rediscover their winning ways as they hammered Monaco 6-0 in the Champions League’s Tuesday fixtures.

Man City Stunned by Bodo/Glimt

Following a disappointing derby defeat against Manchester United, Pep Guardiola’s men were keen on bouncing back straight away. Man City were keen on getting back on winning ways as they face up against Bodo/Glimt in Norway.

However, it was another tale of poor defensive display from the Citizens as they found themselves falling 1-0 down after 22 minutes through Kasper Hogh’s effort. Things got worse two minutes later as Bodo doubled their lead as Hogh grabbed his second in the game.

The home team continue their dominance after the break as they made it 3-0, this time from a lovely effort by the former AC Milan player, Jens Petter Hauge. Man City did see a glimmer of hope as Rayan Cherki pulled one back two minutes later.

Unfortunately, any hope of City’s comeback basically disappeared as they were down with 10 men after Rodri saw red. The Spanish midfielder received his second booking within just two minutes after Cherki’s goal, pretty much killing his team’s comeback chances.

Madrid Win Big Against Monaco

In another match, Madrid look to be showing a massive lifeline after the recent chaos from Xabi Alonso’s dismissal as head coach. Despite hitting rock bottom a few days ago following their Copa Del Rey loss against a second division side, Albacete, Los Blancos are showing that they still have tons of qualities.

Alvaro Arbeloa’s men immediately put on an attacking initiative right from the start and got their reward after just five minutes through Kylian Mbappe. The French international continued his goal-scoring menace as he netted his team’s second on 26 minutes, giving his team a 2-0 lead going into half time break.

Los Blancos didn’t let go of their grip in that match as they added four more goals in the second half, courtesy of Franco Mastantuono, Thilo Kehrer’s own goal, Vinicius Junior, and Jude Bellingham. Monaco were struggling to keep up and were only able to pull one goal back from Jordan Teze’s effort, which gave them a bit of consolation.

That win certainly gives a massive hope for Madrid fans that their team will still compete in all competitions this season amid the recent chaos. As long as Arbeloa can maintain the dressing room in tack, Madrid can certainly regain their spirit and battle for titles.

Other interesting results in the UCL’s Tuesday fixtures also saw defending champion, PSG, lose 2-1 to Sporting, while Arsenal still kept their perfect record after beating Inter Milan 3-1.
