How to Become a Taxi Driver in My Winter Car

Surviving in My Winter Car requires you to work day and night to earn money so that you can fulfill any needs. Food, gas, parts, maintaining the vehicle, everything costs MK (primary currency in the game). Although the best job in the game is to get a Main Office Job, there are other ways to earn money. One of the alternative ways is to become a taxi driver. In this guide, we will tell you how to become a Taxi Driver in My Winter Car.

How to Become a Taxi Driver in My Winter Car

Becoming a Taxi Driver in My Winter Car will require the player to first apply for the job. To do so, the player has to call in for a position after reading the job flyer at the bulletin board inside the PSK Gas Station. However, the job flyer for the taxi job only appears after the player has purchased Corris Rivett. Read the flyer and note down the number. Go to your home and use the numpad keys to dial the number on the flyer (08712112).

Wait for the NPC to pick up the phone and listen to the whole conversation. The NPC will ask you to meet them next weekday at 12 PM outside the PSK Gas Station. Now, go to the PSK Gas Station around 12 PM, and you will spot a Red Taxi vehicle. Enter the vehicle from the passenger side and listen to the briefing. As the briefing ends, you will officially become a Taxi Driver.

NOTE: If you miss the meeting with the NPC, it will disappear, and you will not be able to get the job again.

How to Work as a Taxi Driver in My Winter Car

Getting the Taxi Job is not a difficult part, but working as a taxi driver is. The main reason for this is that you must have a great knowledge of the whole map. Fortunately, the taxi comes with a map guide inside the driver’s sun visor to help you locate locations. You have the freedom to work anytime and drive passengers around. While you are working, you have to wait for a call. Attend the call and listen to the passenger’s details. If you put the phone down while the passenger is talking, the passenger will not appear at the pickup location.

Drive to the pickup location and start the meter when the passenger gets in the taxi. Now, start driving to the drop-off location. You can view the map guide at any time to get the general idea of the location. Moreover, the passenger will also guide you with the directions. After arriving at the location, stop the meter and print out the receipt from the receipt printer. Now, collect the total fare from the passenger.

All Taximeter Modes and How They Work

In addition to the basic taxi driver work, understanding the taximeter is crucial. If you do not set the taximeter correctly, you will not be paid or will receive a deduction from your payment. The Taximeter includes a button to turn on/off the Taxi Lights and a dial with 5 selectable modes. If the red light is on, you will start receiving calls, and the taximeter will not increase the fare. If the red light is off, the taximeter will increase the total fare as you drive. So, when the passenger sits in, you need to turn off the light to set the taximeter on.

In addition to this, here is the working of each taximeter mode.

  • Minus: It is an idle mode that disables the fare. If you are not working, put this mode on and keep the taxi light off so that you don’t receive any calls.
  • Mode 1: Sets the fare to 21 MK for weekdays between 6 AM and 6 PM.
  • Mode 2: Sets the fare to 32 MK for weekdays between 6 PM and 6 AM.
  • Mode A: Shows the total distance traveled with the taximeter on.
  • Mode B: Shows the total income.

Most of the time, you will be switching between Mode 1 and 2, depending on the time you are working. Other than that, you can switch to Minus while filling up the Taxi with Diesel. Yes, you must refuel the taxi with your own pocket to keep working as a taxi driver.
