I tried it: Why this hoodie was the best thing I used in 2025

Welcome to I Tried It, a GOLF.com series about golf items — apparel, gear, accessories, etc. — that we’ve recently taken out for a spin. We’re here to give our honest, no-frills takes on the latest and greatest golf or golf-adjacent items. So, scroll down to read about what we love about golf’s newest (or new to us) products.

Hoodies cover you up. But they don’t conceal.

They tell others where you’ve been. They tell others who you are. Take mine, for example. Among my sweatshirts with hoods, there’s:

– A baby blue Marquette University basketball one with a throwback logo;

– A blue AFC Wimbledon one;

– A blue U.S. Women’s Open one;

 – A brown one with a Catskills Brewery logo;

– A gray one from Radmor;

– A blue one from Radmor

Learned some things, didn’t you? You now know where I went to college (Marquette); where I traveled to last year (England, where AFC Wimbledon plays); where I covered an event this year (the U.S. Women’s Open); and where I like to go on vacation and drink beer (the Catskills area in New York). The last two hoodies, though, are more internal. While the logo is great — a golf ball with eyes popping out of a hole — they say what I want in clothes (and maybe other walks of life, too):

Comfortability. Flexibility. Reliability.

Formally named the Radmor Higgins 2.0 Hoodie, the fit is ‘wearable’ — the material both form-fits and stretches, which gives you a clean look while not restricting a golf swing. The hoodie can also go everywhere. It works on the golf course. At a restaurant. At a desk, writing a story about hoodies.

It’s also dependable.

This year, I’m on my third Higgins, which is just as good as the second Higgins, which is just as good as the first Higgins. In 2022, I picked up Higgins No. 1 and wore it everywhere, so I soon bought the gray one a few months later. This year, the first one’s tread started to wear down, so I ordered the blue one. But all are equal. Ever hear that a sign of a good restaurant is whether it can match — or exceed — what it did on an initial visit? Radmor has done that here.

So yeah, it’s the best thing I used — or more accurately re-used — in 2025. Should you be interested in grabbing one for 2026, I’ve included info below. Feel free to reach me if you have questions. I’ll just be watching Marquette basketball while thinking about London and Wisconsin and drinking a beer — while wearing one of my Higgins hoodies.
