My Winter Car is here, this time bringing even more challenges for players to face. If you have never played the original My Summer Car, then you will quickly realize the realism in it. It requires the proper knowledge of manual cars to drive a car in My Winter Car. Moreover, the knowledge of taking care of your car is also essential in this game. In this guide, we will teach you how to drive a car in My Winter Car.

How to Drive a Car in My Winter Car

The player starts with Sorbett, the beginner car in My Winter Car. It is parked right outside the player’s cabin. Players can access the car at any time, but driving it will require some knowledge of manual cars, especially those from the 90s. Right off the bat, the player will find the car frosted, with snow on the windows. To get started, the player must first defrost the car. This requires starting the car and turning on the heat for quite some time.

Turn on the engine

The first step is to turn on the engine. If you have learned how to defrost the car, you already know how to turn on the engine. If you have missed it, you need to insert the car keys into the ignition by pressing LMB. After that, turn the key to start the car. However, if the car does not start, it means it has a cold engine. To fix it, pull out the choke, left of the wheel. Pull it all the way out and try turning the key again. Once the engine has started, you can push the choke back in.

NOTE: Make sure that the car is in Neutral (N), otherwise it will not start.

Set Off and Drive

After turning on the engine, it’s time to set off and drive. The first thing you need to do is to lift up the handbrake. Look to the right and interact with the handbrake to lift it up. Now, look to the left and buckle up the seatbelt. Change the gear of the car to R for reverse or 1st gear to drive forward. To change the gears, press the G (to go up) and B (to go down).

The overall controls for driving are basic. It uses the WASD controls to drive the car. However, there are some additional buttons to operate the vehicle further.

  • Push: If the car gets stuck, you can push it. Get out of the car and press the J to go into the push mode.
  • Lights: Turn on/off the lights by pressing L.
  • Blinkers: Use the Arrow Keys to signal the blinkers.

It might feel a bit much at the start, especially for new players, but after a few hours of gameplay, the controls will grow on you.
