What are the best horror games of 2025? Well, while it’s subjective, we can at least give you our picks! 2025 brought a ton of new games to the table, including indie titles and major releases.
Our top picks for the horror games released in 2025. If you haven’t played these games, or there are a few listed here that you’re yet to try out, don’t worry, as we’ve avoided adding spoilers.

2025 brought a brand-new game to the Silent Hill franchise. As a Silent Hill fan, I was ecstatic for this release, and it did not disappoint.
Whilst vastly different from older entries, Silent Hill F takes the best parts of the original games and adds a modern twist, whilst being set in the 1960s. There’s also the fact that this is the first time Silent Hill has taken place in Japan, which makes it totally unique.
As Hinako, you must delve into the fog, switching between the real world and the horrors of the ‘other’ world. With familiar mechanics, lots of cryptic clues to find, and an immersively creepy atmosphere as the fog takes over Ebisugaoka, Silent Hill F has got to be one of the best horror titles of 2025. In fact, it’s my personal game of the year.

Starting a viral art trend, No I’m Not a Human was somewhat of a cultural phenomenon. As the world crumbles outside, you must open the door to various strangers. You need to investigate and determine which are real humans, and which of those are ‘Visitors’.
If they aren’t suspicious at first, you can invite them in. However, don’t take too long to make your decision, and prioritise interacting with them to see if they start to act strangely.

The sequel to Tormented Souls, this second entry in the series brought back those classic survival horror vibes that we all know and love. Exploring the town of Villa Hess, you must wander through an abandoned mall, a classic nightmarish school, and other frightful locations.
With new enemies to defeat, weapons to modify and utilise, and a chilling story that takes many twists and turns, will Caroline be able to help her tormented sister, Anna?
For the games we played this year, but were released in 2024. We can’t leave these out!

Inspired by Resident Evil, this survival horror game takes you to an abandoned amusement park. Whether it’s a nod to Silent Hill 3 or not, I’m not sure, but it reminded me of exploring the amusement park as Cheryl Mason and seeing the terrifyingly iconic Robbie the Rabbit.
It wouldn’t be a survival horror without puzzles! There are clues you must find, and puzzles to solve, as you navigate your way through the park. All the while, you need to keep an eye out for the monstrous enemies, aiming down your sights to defeat them before they get to you first.
