The Forge Essence Obtainment

Essence drops from all enemy types in The Forge, with each mob holding unique drop rates and Essence rarities. Typically, the harder the mob is to kill, the better the Essence Rarity it has a chance of dropping.

In rare cases, you may also find Essences within rock nodes. Before you begin mining, if you spot a rock with a wispy white particle effect, it likely has Essence inside.

What is Essence Used For?

Essence is a currency-like item used at the Enhancer to upgrade the stats of your Equipment. When enhancing, you’ll need to own the correct amount of Essences, with each enhancement gradually becoming more expensive, and having a higher fail chance to prestige.

If successful, equipment has the chance to unlock Rune Slots, as well as have its stats (ATK/DEF) multiplied.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: Should I invest Essence into temporary gear?
    • A: If you know your gear is only a stepping stone in your progression, then I don’t recommend investing Essences into upgrading it. Instead, save your Essence for better gear and weapons.
  • Q: What does Craft Chance mean?
    • A: Equipment enhancement is done through chance, typically starting with a 100% chance for the first Enhancement. As you invest more materials, there’s a chance for your enhancement to fail. When this happens, the equipment doesn’t prestige, and you lose the Essences you invested. If an enhancement fails, you can try again once you have the correct materials.
