Our How to Get the Fisch Blade of Glorp rod guide goes over the required quests from both Glorp and Dr Crookspine! Learn more about the Gleebous Mutation with our other guide. Is this new Fisch rod worth it?
To obtain the Blade of Gorp rod in Fisch, you need to complete Glorp’s quest. Glorp asks you to collect 15 fish with the Gleebous mutation, which you can get by fishing in abundance spots at Roslit Bay, with a 1.48% chance.
There’s another way to get the Gleebous mutation, and that’s by using the Blade of Gorp, which isn’t really useful when you’re trying to get the fishing rod in the first place.
To find Glorp, you need to head to Roslit Bay and look for the crashed UFO. When you first speak to Glorp, you cannot communicate with him. This is because you need a Translator. But how do you get this Translator? Dr Crookspine, of course!
Firstly, you must catch 1 fish with the Gleebous mutation before returning it to Dr Crookspine at the Laboratory to the North of Roslit Bay. Upon completion of this quest, you then unlock the quest that rewards you with the Translator.
For this second quest, you need to collect 1 Device Display, 1 Communication Circuit, and 1 Translator Core. After finding these items, you can hand them in to Dr Crookspine to get the Translator. You can now speak with Glorp!
As mentioned, to complete Glorp’s quest, you need to catch 15 fish with the Gleebous mutation. However, because you don’t have the Blade of Glorp yet, there’s only one way of getting this mutation. It has a 1.48% chance of appearing when fishing at abundance spots on Roslit Bay island.
