Animal Crossing: New Horizons is finally arriving at Nintendo’s latest console, Nintendo Switch 2, on January 15, 2026. Nintendo eShop updated its page for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, revealing the file size for Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. The file size of ACNH on Switch 2 will be 10.8 GB, approximately 600 MB more than the Switch 1 version. The file size of ACNH on Switch 1 is 10.2 GB. The difference in game file size is not big, and it makes sense with all the exclusive features for the Switch 2.

Exclusive Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Features

Here are the exclusive features coming to the ACNH Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

• The improved textures and resolution will certainly make the journey more appealing to the old and new players on the new console. However, the framerate will remain capped at 30 FPS at 4K resolution.
• The mouse controls will allow players to move items, create designs, and draw on the bulletin board effectively.
• Players can use the Switch 2’s built-in microphone to use the returning Megaphone 2 to call the villagers.
• Last but not least, up to 12 players can join in online with the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
• Players can use the Switch 2 camera to show their faces above the player character.

Moreover, as mentioned above, the upcoming 3.0 update will arrive on both console editions. All players will be able to pursue the new content of managing a hotel, decorating Slumber Island, meeting Resetti, making use of additional storage, and more.
