PETAPETA Rune and Key

Not sure how to get the Rune and Key badges in PETAPETA during the Halloween Spotlight event?

How to Get the Rune Badge

For the Rune and the Rune badge, you need to search for and collect 20 pumpkins. The map you must explore to find these pumpkins features a school, so you need to wander around and investigate every nook and cranny in hopes that you see all 20 of the pumpkins. They’re quite small in size, so they can be easy to miss at times!

You are most likely going to collect the 20 pumpkins within the first level, though some players have said that they had to progress to the second level to find the rest of them. As for locations, they are random each time, so there’s no way to say where they’ll be during your run.

During this, you need to avoid the monster while you hunt down the pumpkins. To counter this, working together in a group can be a good option, so that you’re not the only targets for the monster to follow and attack.

Whilst you get a badge after collecting 10 pumpkins, you must carry on, as this is not the Rune!

How to Get the Key Badge

To obtain the Key badge, you first need the Rune badge, so make sure you complete that step. You can get this second badge in the same run that you got your Rune badge in, or you can start fresh.

For the Key badge, the main goal is to complete all three levels of the school map in PETAPETA. Ironically, you and your teammates (unless you’re playing solo) need to find a total of 7 keys so that you can match them to the locks to unlock the exit. The first level is the easiest, as the green arrows on your screen indicate where each key is.

During the second and third levels, the locations of the keys are random with no green arrows, and they can even appear in lockers. As you search for these keys, the monster prowls the halls. Listen out for any sounds it makes and keep an eye on your screen, as it distorts if the monster is close by.

The main difference is that in the second level, you must use a bat to break windows and doors. In the third level, you need to utilise the portals that appear throughout the school to travel between rooms in search of the keys. Oh, and the third level requires only 5 keys instead of 7!
