The Fisch Frightful mutation is exclusive to the Fischfright event! One of the obtainment methods I mentioned below requires you to get a rod, which is one of the Fisch Witch Rewards. As you play the Halloween event in Fisch, make sure to collect Witch’s Ingredients.

How to Get the Frightful Mutation in Fisch

To get the Frightful Mutation on any catch, the best way is to obtain a Frightful Relic, as upon use, it grants the fishing rod the Frightful Enchant. With this enchant, you have a 10% chance of getting Frightful catches! But, it also increases the Progress Speed during the fishing mini-game by 50% but reduces Resilience by 20%.

How to Get a Frightful Relic

There are various ways of getting the Frightful Relic.

• Purchase the Frightful Relic from the Flying Dutchman NPC for 2K Candy
• You can go Trick or Treating with a Candy Bucket in Crook’s Hallow for a 0.49% chance to get the Frightful Relic from one of the houses (it must be a Treat, not a Trick!)
• There’s a chance to fish up the Frightful Relic, though it’s rare, but there’s a higher chance if you fish in the Halloween locations, such as Frightful Village and Nessie’s Catacombs

If you’re trying to catch a Frightful Relic, it does have some preferences that you should keep in mind! If you want to increase your chances, you need to equip Candy Corn bait and wait for Foggy weather during Nighttime while the season is Autumn. Of course, relics can appear outside of these preferences, but the chances are significantly lower.

Spooky Rod

Now, while the Frightful Relic is the best way, there’s also a chance of getting the Frightful mutation when you fish with the Spooky fishing rod. One of its passive abilities grants a 10% chance of catching a fish with the Frightful mutation.

To get this fishing rod, you must put 10 of the Witch’s Ingredients into the cauldron in Crook’s Hallow. As a reward, you obtain the Spooky rod!
