Certain Pokemon require a high level of friendship in order to evolve, and holding a certain item increases friendship with the Pokemon wearing it. In this guide for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, we’ll tell you where to find such an item, the Soothe Bell.

Both original and new Pokemon require a high level of friendship in order to evolve into the next form, such as Pichu. There are many ways to increase friendship in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, such as battling, walking around with your Pokemon, or resting at cafes, but all of this is boosted by the Soothe Bell.

The Soothe Bell is a reward for completing Side Mission: 036 Some Friendly Competition, that can be found at the map location shown above.

It should appear there around Main Mission 14. If it doesn’t appear at that time for you, make sure you check at night and you’re all caught up with other Side Missions.

From there, simply equip the Pokemon with the Soothe Bell to make it friendly.
