Ranching 101 is the new Skill quest in Palia. It is the initial quest for the new Ranching Skill, added with the recent Fall Fantasy: Of Barns and Briars update. The new update adds the Animal Husbandry feature, which allows players to take control of a ranch in which they can rear and raise different animals. It is a brand-new skill with its progression level and rewards. In this guide, we will walk you through the Ranching 101 quest in Palia.
The Ranching 101 quest becomes available quite early in the main story of the game. Players must complete the “Like A Bird” main quest. Once done, Delaila will show up at the player’s housing plot. Speak with Delaila, and she will introduce you to the new ranching system. Moreover, the Ranching 101 quest will initiate upon speaking with Delaila.
As the Ranching 101 quest starts, Delaila will give you the Signal Bell. It is the way of accessing the player’s ranch area. Select the Signal Bell from the inventory and place it anywhere in the housing plot area. Once done, interact with the Signal Bell to teleport to the Ranch area.
Once you are at the ranch area, speak with Delaila just outside the gate. She will give you the introductory information on how to take care of the animals. Moreover, she will give you two Pekis (Chicken-like animals) and two corns.
After speaking with Delaila, enter the ranch area to see Pekis. Interact with the Peki to get the option to rename it.
NOTE: The rename option only appears on the initial inspection. You would have to use the special treat if you want to change the name of the animal later.
After saving the name of Peki, you would see the stats of the animal on the right side. It will include its mood, abilities, traits, and status effects. Moreover, if you look at the bottom of the screen, you will have two options: Petting and Feeding. Select the Pet option to pet Peki to increase its happiness. After that, select the Feed option to open your inventory and then select the Corn to feed it to Peki. Feeding the Peki will fulfill its hunger and increase its happiness.
Now, repeat the process of petting and feeding for the second Peki in the ranch area. Once done taking care of both Pekis, go back to Delaila. Speak with Delaila and go through the dialogues to conclude the quest.
Completing the Ranching 101 quest in Palia will give you the following rewards.
