Sancho Faces Uncertain Future Amid Multiple Offers

Manchester United are actively looking to offload Jadon Sancho following his underwhelming return from a loan spell. It was confirmed this week that Chelsea, who had the option to make the move permanent for £25 million, declined to do so and instead paid a £5 million penalty to terminate the deal early. The winger has now returned to Old Trafford, where relations remain fractured beyond repair. United are eager to bring a close to what has become a frustrating and costly episode. Sancho’s decline has been stark when compared to the player who arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2021. At the time, he was regarded as one of Europe’s most promising attackers, having scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists across four seasons in Germany. United paid £73 million for his services, but his impact was limited to just 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances.

Although he displayed glimpses of his former self at Chelsea, the performances were insufficient to warrant a permanent move, especially considering his high wage demands. Now, the 25-year-old is considering his next destination. According to TeamTalk, AC Milan, Napoli and Aston Villa are all monitoring his situation, though it is unclear whether any of them can meet his salary expectations. Among the interested clubs, a move to Napoli may be the most appealing. The reigning Serie A champions, revitalised under Antonio Conte, can offer Champions League football in the 2025–26 season and the opportunity to revive his career in a competitive environment.

Antony’s Future at United Still Unresolved

Manchester United are reportedly open to the idea of reintegrating Antony, although the Brazilian winger has attracted interest from other clubs. Since arriving at Old Trafford, the 25-year-old has struggled to make a significant impact, registering just 12 goals and five assists across all competitions over two and a half seasons.

His loan move to Real Betis in January followed the sacking of Erik ten Hag, the manager who had brought him to both Ajax and United. However, Antony’s form in Spain surprised many, as he rediscovered some of the flair and confidence last seen during his early days in the Netherlands. Betis are reportedly eager to retain the winger, but Sky Sports reports that the Spanish club are unlikely to afford a permanent deal due to their financial limitations, while United prefer to sell him outright.

Bayer Leverkusen have also emerged as a potential suitor. The Bundesliga side recently appointed Erik ten Hag to replace Xabi Alonso, who took over at Real Madrid. The Dutch manager is reportedly keen on reuniting with Antony for a third time, viewing him as a valuable addition to his squad. Despite these developments, Sky Sports has also stated that a return to Manchester United cannot be ruled out. Antony featured in all but one of Rúben Amorim’s squads before his loan departure in January, suggesting there could still be a role for him in the Portuguese manager’s plans.
