I’m just speculating here, but Grow a Garden loves to churn out events based on real-world holidays and their updates. Now, I can think of one holiday in particular where something as devious as negative mutation value could impact your crops… April Fool’s Day!
Sure, this won’t happen until next year, if at all, but can you imagine the carnage of a negative mutation on crops? If you sold them, you could potentially lose money instead of gaining. The only way to offload these negative fruits would be an exchange shop during the event, or gifting them to unsuspecting players, making the fruits their problem.
But of course, I’m not a DEV, nor am I in any position to ponder on an unconfirmed event that’s almost an entire year away. So, back on topic, you don’t need to worry about any mutations reducing crop value. Every mutation your plant gains will enhance its profitability, depending on its multiplier, alongside a cosmetic to show off.
