Guts and Blackpowder Priest Guide – Chaplain Unlock

The Guts and Blackpowder Priest class (also known as Chaplain) is one for the support mains! I love playing support roles in games, so I quite enjoy being a Chaplain.

Ready to cleanse your allies from infection in Guts and Blackpowder? Speaking of blessings, check out our Devas of Creation Blessed Scrolls guide. It’s an RPG that you might enjoy!

Guts and Blackpowder Priest Class

The Priest class in Guts and Blackpowder is also the ‘Chaplain’. But in short, it’s a priest. For those who prefer to play a support role in PvE/PvP games, this class might just be for you!

How to Unlock the Priest Class

To unlock the Priest class for yourself, you need to earn the Soldier’s Grace badge. The requirements for this badge are as follows:

  • Defeat 75 Runners that are pinning your allies down in battle
  • Save 150 allies from being grabbed by any type of zombie
  • Heal allies 50+ times as a Surgeon
  • Have the Vos Enterrement badge
    • You unlock this badge by lowering the platform for your allies using a winch on the San Sebastian map

Priest Weapons and Abilities

You use a Crucifix and Stake in battle, whilst activating the ‘Blessing’ ability to cure your allies from infection. Luckily, as a priest (or Chaplain, if you will), you cannot be infected by zombies. The Blessing skill has a cooldown of 40 seconds after using it 3 times and takes 3 seconds to activate when interacting with an infected player.

The Crucifix stuns nearby zombies upon use and knocks back those closest to you.  After usage, the Crucifix has a 60-second cooldown, so it’s best to save it for dire situations.

While you can use the Stake to attack the zombies, I don’t suggest making that your priority. Your role is to hang back and keep your allies safe and alive. One-on-one combat is also a no-go, which is why you should stand behind your teammates for protection.
