The world of SPIKE Chunsoft’s roguelike RPG Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island will make its way to the Nintendo Switch February 27.
New to this title is Sumo Status, which is activated within Shiren when his Fullness exceeds 150, disappearing when Fullness goes below 120. This number can be changed by eating Onigiri and certain items, granting perks like increased Attack Power, boosted Max HP, and the ability to nullify Traps. The only catch is that Shiren can’t use items to move around when in this state.
Players must also contend with Behemoth Gates in Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island. Creatures called Behemoths lie in wait, wielding extremely high Attack Power. On top of that, they are completely immune to attacks from the front or sides with their Behemoth Barrier.
Finally, Sacred Items are rare pieces of equipment that carry random enhanced abilities. Golden items are more rare, but their effects vary. In that case, a Blue item may have a more powerful effect than a Golden item. There are rare categories of Runes called “Natural Runes,” found on some “Sacred” Weapons and Shields.
