A Better Use is a quest for Tian Wen (trader) in Arc Raiders. It is the second quest for her and is one of the tricky and luck-dependent quests, as it requires you to use a Call Station, whose spawn is random in all the maps. However, it is one of the most useful quests, especially for new players, as it teaches you how to call in Supply Drops for potential loot. In this guide, we will tell you how to complete the A Better Use quest in Arc Raiders.
A Better Use quest becomes available after completing The Right Tool quest for Tian Wen. Once the quest is available, accept it to pursue it in your next raid. The quest has two main objectives to complete.
The Call Station is one of the structures that spawns in all the maps. It is a radio with an antenna structure, usually found in the major Loot Zones. There are plenty of Call Stations in all the maps, but only a few of them are active at a time. It means you cannot use it if it is not active. Finding an active Call Station is the first challenge for this quest.
NOTE: The player must complete the objectives in ONE-GO to conclude the quest. Moreover, this quest can be completed in any map.
As mentioned above, the Call Stations spawn in all the maps. For this quest, the Dam Battlegrounds is safe due to less difficulty and overall challenge. There are more than 10 fixed spots of the Call Stations in the Dam Battlegrounds map. You can view the location of all the Call Stations in the image below.
We recommend trying the Water Treatment one first. if it is not active, make your way to the east to reach the Loading Bay and Control Tower. There will be three Call Stations here and a high chance of finding an active one. If you still haven’t had any luck, go for the ones in the Hydroponic Dome Complex.
After locating an active Call Station, interact with it to send a flare up into the sky. It is a signal for the supply drop. However, be aware that all players can see the flare from everywhere on the map. Moreover, it will take about a minute before the supply drop falls. The player must go into hiding to avoid both arc enemies and real player enemies.
The final objective for the quest is to loot the supply drop. If you think that there is no one around the area, go over to the supply drop and loot it completely. Upon looting the supply drop, the objective will be completed, which completes the A Better Use quest for good. However, if you die before looting the supply drop, it will not count. You will have to do the whole process again in a new raid.
NOTE: The player does not have to extract successfully to complete the quest.
If you die after looting the supply drop, the quest will not be lost. You can still turn in your quest at Tian Wen and receive your quest rewards.
